Diameter Measurement of Large Trees with the Wide Scale Relaskop
Abstract:The Spiegel Relaskop has been modified to permit direct readings of diameters up to 20 feet or more at any height in a tree and to provide a wide range of basal area factors. The new instrument is called the Wide Scale Relaskop and was designed to meet the need for an instrument to measure the large trees in tropical forests where exaggerated butt swell complicates diameter measurements. It should be useful for large timber anywhere.
