Forest Fire Danger Indexes
The rapid development and application of forest fire danger rating systems in the past decade on a country-wide basis has naturally given rise to many types of fire danger indexes. The author describes the relation among the five major types and shows the position of the factors that constitute each. It is pointed out that the widest and most effecive use of fire danger ratings depends on an understanding of these relations.
