Abstract:

Community forests are defined by the committee as including all areas of actual or potential woodland owned by any public agency except the federal or state government. The extent and objectives of such forests in the region are discussed, with emphasis on the importance of multiple use, and with specific recommendations as to ways and means of increasing their area and usefulness in the region covered by the Allegheny Section.
