Whether or not site can be determined by soil and erosion characteristics is, of course, something that needs to be investigated more fully. If it can, it would provide the answer to a problem which has long been unsolved, and which heretofore could be obtained only for and from stands well advanced in age. Furthermore, it would furnish a simple and accurate means of determining productivity of soil, and would be of invaluable assistance in formulating management plans and the selection of the proper species for planting. The data presented are admittedly meager, but they seem to be adequate to serve as a basis for some rather definite conclusions. Certain it is that determination of site by soil and erosion shows promise of being feasible, and because of that fact it is worthy of further investigation.
