The following report deals with the effects of some soil treatments on the development of 1-year old loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) seedlings at a forest tree nursery in the sand-hill region near Hoffman, N. C. It was the purpose of this study to determine the general nature of treatments that will improve sandy soils for producing nursery stock of high quality for field planting.
