Cankers and Decay of Yellow Birch Associated With Fomes Igniarius var. Laevigatus
Abstract:In the Adirondacks and elsewhere trunk cankers associated with sterile fungus material and rot are relatively common. These cankers and the associated rot are shown to be caused by Fomes igniarius vat. laevigatus.
