Abstract:
Loblolly pine seeds were stratified in a number of different media at different moisture contents for various periods of time. A detailed study was made of the viability and the promptness of germination of the seeds so stratified, and some interesting and important relationships were determined. For practical purposes it is recommended that before sowing, loblolly pine seeds be stratified two to three months in thoroughly moistened sand or peat at temperatures between 32 and 40° F.Document Type: Journal article
