The Stocked-Quadrat Method of Sampling Reproduction Stands
Abstract:The lauuching of the nation-wide forest survey directs considerable interest to rapid and accurate methods of sampling reproduction stands. The method here described is based on a small unit of such size as will be fully stocked by one seedling or tree at maturity. While the method has beeu in use nearly a decade, the fundamental reasoning with regard to the determination of the size of the unit has not been given expression heretofore.
