Notes: Inheritance of Shoot Coatings and Their Relation to Resin Midge Attack on Ponderosa Pine

The full text article is temporarily unavailable.

We apologise for the inconvenience. Please try again later.

When resin midge is a problem, attack is heavy on young ponderosa pines with viscid spring shoots, but light on trees with glaucous or glabrous spring shoots. Progenies of crosses involving only glabrous or glaucous parents contained no viscid individuals, while progenies of crosses involving viscid parents had high frequencies of viscid offspring. Significance for breeding programs is discussed. Forest Sci. 31:427-429.
