N2 - The coefficients of the negative exponential diameter distribution are simple functions of the total number of trees and their arithmetic mean diameter. The relative frequencies of tree number are identical for all balanced uneven-aged stands when the diameter classes are expressed in terms of the mean diameter. As in even-aged stands, the actual (right-truncated) number of trees in uneven-aged stands is a power function of the average diameter. The power, however, is less than that in even-aged stands.
