Notes: Estimation in Multiphase Designs for Stratification
Abstract:An unbiased estimator of a total and an unbiased estimator of its corresponding variance are given for a multiphase sampling design for stratification. Two, three, and four phases of sampling are examined. Efficient allocation of sampling effort for each phase of sampling is also considered. A numeric example is presented for a three-phase sampling design. Forest Sci. 30:484-491.
