Notes: Variation in Seed Yield of White Oak

Wide variation in and strong clonal control over seed yield were observed in a young grafted white oak orchard. Clonal variation in seed production in any single year was most strongly correlated with percentage of flowers fertilized, while year-to-year differences in production were associated with variation in the degree of flowering.
