Abstract:

A patrol route planning problem for an airborne infrared forest fire detection system is formulated. The problem is solved by a dynamic programing algorithm. Provided that a problem satisfies the requirements of the formulation set forth in this paper, the algorithm described can be used to allocate units other than airborne infrared systems to search for objects other than forest fires.
