Notes: Method for Removing Wood Samples from Trees

Abstract:Wood samples can be removed nondestructively from standing trees with an autopsy saw. The technique produces samples of high quality for microscopic study of cambial activity and wood formation. It was used successfully on six tree species. Forest Sci. 21:51-52.
