Notes: Polarographic Determination of Oxygen Consumption by Pine Needles

Oxygen uptake of segments of pine needles can be measured rapidly and accurately with a polarographic procedure using an oxygen-sensitive electrode. Application of the method for determining the effects of segment location and size on oxygen consumption rates are given. Some effects of temperature and NaF treatment on oxygen uptake are also described. Forest Sci. 17:217-219.
