A high concentration of abscisic acid (500 ppm) in a fuel oil carrier delayed budbreak when applied to the foliage of white spruce seedlings. Fuel oil alone, apparently acting as an antitranspirant, also delayed budbreak. Forest Sci. 16: 210-211.
