Uncertainty is present in most forest management decision-making situations. Theoretical models for the systematic incorporation of uncertainty into the decision-making process are not adequately available in the forestry literature. The paper investigates the compatibility of one model, Bayesian decision theory, and forest management decision-making problems under uncertainty. Examples of two possibilities for applying Bayes an decision theory in forest management are included.
