	abstract = "A gibberellin-like substance was isolated and identified from the immature seeds of Pinus jeffreyi Grev. & Balf., P. ponderosa Laws., and P. lambertiana Dougl. It appeared different chromatographically from two of the chemically known gibberellins isolated from angiosperm seeds and fruits. Seasonal changes determined in the gibberellin-like substance in the developing sugar pine seed showed that the concentration of the substance increased as the seed matured, with the highest concentration occurring during active embryo development.",
