	abstract = "The effects of gibberellic acid (GA<SUB>2</SUB>) on the seed germination of Picea sitchensis (Bong.) Carr. were studied. Concentrations of 0.1, 1.0 and 10.0 ppm failed to cause significant differences in germination rate or capacity compared with distilled water. A solution of 100 ppm significantly reduced the germination capacity determined at 35 days. Attention is drawn to the conflicting results so far obtained with coniferous species and to the need for research on the effects of other gibberellins.",
