Abstract:A new species of plagiorhynchid acanthocephalan, Porrorchis aruensis n.sp. is described from Wallace's dasyure Myoictis wallacii Gray, 1858. Porrorchis aruensis differs from all congeners in the combination of smaller size, short proboscis, proboscis armature of 30 rows of 8–9 hooks and relatively short, broad lemnisci. This is the first record of a helminth from M. wallacii.
