Abstract:
Two hundred and seventy people were asked in an e-mail enquiry to indicate their preference for one of two pieces of text written in different styles and to say which one they thought was more suitable for an undergraduate textbook. Of the 152 people who replied, 70 (46%)read their texts on screen and 82 (54%) did this after first printing out their texts. The results, however, showed that this had no measurable effect upon their judgements.Language: English
