Abstract:

This study was conducted within the framework of the Kenyan-Danish Health Research Project (KEDAHR) with funding from the Danish Bilharziasis Laboratory (DBL). We acknowledge the support from Mbeka Primary School, and particularly Mr. Abudho and the 1998 and 1999 grade six pupils, the local community, the area educational authorities, the National Museum of Kenya, and the local nongovernmental organization Care for the Earth for their support of this study.
