Abstract:

This paper shows, with the help of a case study, that the integration of analytical capabilities of GIS, statistical analysis procedures and knowledge discovery in spatial databases (KDSD) techniques provide a suitable framework for mining information and modelling maps from cartography stored in a spatial information system and non-spatial data contained in a knowledge base. For it, a graphic model (map) of the cost in time for the displacement of a mobile will be generated, introducing a new method for determining anisotropic functions based on circular statistics.
