Abstract:

For the Brothers of Charity, it is a human right that a person with mental health problems should receive adequate and professional support in order to solve these problems as much as possible. Since the inception of the Congregation in 1807, we started developing a mental health care system available to everyone. In this article, I will describe the strategies we use in order to organise our mental health care programmes. I will also define our points of attention and will explain our concrete methodology, with the situation of Rwanda as an example.
