Abstract:

This chapter conducts a survey of China's corpus-based research, focusing on the following aspects: i) the history and development of China's corpus-based research; ii) corpus compilation; iii) leading research figures and institutions; iv) major academic publications on these research. Then, the author predicts the prospect of this research, focusing on the developing trend of China's corpus-based research, corpus annotation problems, corpus processing tools and how to apply the corpora to language teaching and translation studies.
