Abstract:

This month we present a review of the M25 colorectal course by Davies and Williams. The second article is an anonymous letter reviewing the recent publication by the National Patient Safety Agency, called Medical error. The booklet is aimed at trainees and encourages them to report medical mistakes anonymously via a website. As an incentive, senior members of the profession have given examples of their worst mistakes. The booklet also includes analyses of some case histories of common scenarios. The author draws parallels with airline pilots and questions why trainees have to be targeted separately from the rest of the medical profession. As always, your comments and feedback are welcome.
