The Royal College of Surgeons of England
The Royal College of Surgeons of England is a registered charity (registered charity number 212808) and is committed to enabling surgeons to achieve and maintain the highest standards of surgical practice and patient care.
Patients are at the heart of College activity and the safety of patients is therefore the primary focus of our work. The College provides leadership and support to the surgical profession and influences policy making that directly impacts on surgeons and their patients.
The College is governed by a president and Council of elected fellows and invited representatives. A separate Court of Examiners conducts examinations. The College participates in the Senate of Surgery of Great Britain and Ireland, which coordinates certain professional activities and national bodies.
