The vacuum nature resulting from the electromagnetic field quantization procedure is analyzed. The electric potential of the quantum vacuum state characterized by appropriate parameters is put in evidence and the relationship with the electron charge is discussed. It is deduced that every charge accelerated in vacuum experiences an electric potential proportional to its acceleration.
