Abstract:

The goal of this article is to describe the contents of the data set assembled by the Research Network on Gender Politics and the State (RNGS) through its study of the impact of women's movements and women's policy agencies in policy debates in post-industrial democracies in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. The article begins by summarizing the RNGS project and the methods for gathering and measuring the information. The body of the article lists all of the concepts and sub-variables in the data set. For each of the 28 concepts, the nominal definition, the questions pertaining to measurement and coding, and the information included in the data set are discussed.French Politics (2006) 4, 209-236. doi:10.1057/palgrave.fp.8200101
