Abstract:

This article focus on human kookworm infection, the most important helminthiasis in humans and possibly the second most important parasitic disease of humans next to malaria. The author also discusses the feasibility of developing a hookworm vaccine, including information of the lead candidate vaccine antigens for the Human Hookworm Vaccine Initiative. This is a chapter included in Vaccines.
