Better Health: A Handbook of Behavior Change is a one-of-a-kind manual for communities to reduce disease, disability, and premature death throughout the life cycle. This chapter of the book discusses the fact that since every individual or group behavior is learned, it has the potential to be modified or replaced with other, newly learned behavior and it can be changed to improve health and wellbeing. The influence of culture, society and citizen and community participation when considering implementing a program designed to change behavior is analyzed.
