Abstract:
Better Health: A Handbook of Behavior Change is a one-of-a-kind manual for communities to reduce disease, disability, and premature death throughout the life cycle. This chapter of the book discusses the most rapidly growing segment of the world's population, the oldest segment. The major health problems at these ages including mortality, risk factors and protective favors for major causes of death and disability and musculoskeletal conditions (arthritis, osteoporosis) are discussed together with the protective factors for mental abilities and treatments for pain and suffering.
