Abstract:

The eighth chapter of the PAHO Book "Natural Disasters: Protecting the Public's Health" deals with the interventions that are needed for the continuation or quick rehabilitation of effective environmental health services after the onset of a natural disaster. Priority areas of intervention, water supply and food safety, basic sanitation, burial of the dead and public information are some of the topics included in the chapter.
