Abstract:

A flat crack in a transversely isotropic elastic space is considered. It is shown that if an exact solution is found to the case of a normal loading of the crack then an exact solution in quadratures can be found to the case of arbitrary tangential loading of the same crack. Application of the method to the case of an internal and external circular crack is considered as an example.
