Abstract:

This chapter begins with a description of the life and early works of Bernard Bosanquet. It looks at Bosanquet’s metaphysical position as presented in The Principle of Individuality and Value, citing its materialist tendencies. His thoughts on the laws of nature, panpsychism, the problem of evil, value, the existence of the Absolute, and religion are discussed.
