Natural Resources and Pro‐Poor Growth: The Economics and Politics

Abstract:Natural resources can generate and sustain growth, thereby reducing poverty and supporting the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). It is therefore urgent to improve natural resource management for long‐term pro‐poor economic growth, i.e. a pace and pattern of growth that enhances the ability of poor women and men to participate in, contribute to and benefit from growth.
