Abstract:

Since 1998, the OECD has been reviewing the progress of regulatory reform in its member countries. These reviews are prepared by the OECD Secretariat and examined by delegates from all Member countries. The final product, however, remains under the responsibility of the Secretariat and does not necessarily represent the views of any OECD Member country. Competition policy is one of several areas under review in each country. Italy was reviewed under the regulatory reform programme in 2001. The entire report, including this chapter was published by the OECD in April 2001 under the title " Regulatory Reform in Italy".
