Abstract:
OECD Economic Outlook What major economic trends in the OECD area will mark the next two years? What economic policy measures should Member countries adopt for the years to come? What are the recent and forthcoming developments in selected non-OECD countries in East Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, and South America? In addition to the themes featured in every edition, this issue also addresses these important questions: · Will the crisis in Asia have significant consequences? · What forces are shaping fiscal policy? · What is the latest progress on the implementation of the OECD Jobs Strategy? · How do social security systems influence retirement decisions in OECD countries? · What are the potential advantages of economic instruments in dealing with climate change? · Is the international competitiveness of OECD countries affected by emerging market economies? A new on-line service has been launched to provide early access to the projections and analyses of the Economic Outlook and better convey the main economic policy messages of the OECD in a more effective and timely way. A general assessment of the macroeconomic situation, developments and projections for each Member country and certain non-member economies, and a selection of projections for key economic variables will now be available on the Internet to all subscribers with a special password more than a month before the release of the book.Page Count: 324 Figure Count: 172 Table Count: 153Document Type: Review article
