Abstract:This paper provides a general review on folate and vitamin B12 nutrition and metabolism and the metabolic interrelationship between these vitamins. The effects of some common polymorphisms in folate and vitamin B12 genes and the influence of vitamin B6 and riboflavin status on folate and vitamin B12 metabolism are also discussed.
