Abstract:

This article presents some of the results obtained during a load test conducted on a ferry boarding ramp operated by the Société des traversiers du Québec. The measurements highlight the sensitivity of these structures to the dynamic effects caused by two heavy vehicles. Since the dynamic behaviour of highway bridges is affected by parameters different from those that affect ferry boarding ramps, the article presents a reflection on the dynamic load allowance suitable for the evaluation or design of this latter type of structure.Key words: boarding ramp, bridge, dynamic amplification factor, design codes.

Cet article présente quelques résultats obtenus lors d'essais de chargement réalisés sur un embarcadère de traversiers de la Société des Traversiers du Québec. Les résultats mettent en évidence la sensibilité de ce genre de structure aux effets dynamiques du traffic routier. Le comportement dynamique des ponts routiers étant affecté par des paramètres de nature différente de ceux des embarcadères de traversiers, cet article propose une réflexion quant au coefficient de majoration dynamique à considérer dans les calculs d'évaluation ou de conception d'un embarcadère.Mots clés : rampe d'embarquement, pont, facteur d'amplification dynamique, norme de calcul.
