Abstract:

Presents a table of results from current paint media analyses carried out by gas chromatography. Begins with a brief historical survey of methods used for organic analysis of materials used in art objects and, in particular, paint media. Notes to the table include supplementary staining tests carried out on prepared sections. See also AATA 15-579.
