Facing the oncoming century of the ocean, HEU has made far-sighted exploitations in several aspects of Underwater Technology. Some of this research was among the most creative and outstanding in our country. This article briefly reviews some of the research conducted over the recent two decades. The focus of the dissertation is mainly on the following three representative aspects: Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicles (DSRVs), and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs).
