Abstract:

The art of the modern age, particularly the lyric poetry, develops an own aesthetic conception of the movement which breaks with the classic idea of the movement as a spatial change of a body in time. Baudelaires À une Passante, Rimbauds Bateau ivre and Paul Valérys Le Cimetière Marin are three paradigmatic texts of the French modern age, in which movement is reflected as a time-space-continuum and materialized in the dynamic of language. Modern art is itself movement and causes movement. It becomes an art of the development, not substance, an art of pure sensory perception, not concept, an art of discontinuous adventures, not experience.

The Journal for Aesthetics and General Art History (Zeitschrift für Ästhetik und Allgemeine Kunstwissenschaft, "ZÄK") was established in 1906. It contains articles, miscellany, and reviews and continues to provides a forum for the fields of the "theory of beautiful and the philosophy of art", "theory of particular arts" and the "methodology of art history". The journal contains peer reviewed articles, predominantly in German, but also in English and French language. Thematically arranged special issues appear in irregular intervals and expand the program.

Die "Zeitschrift für Ästhetik und Allgemeine Kunstwissenschaft" wurde 1906 gegründet. Sie bildet ein Forum für die Problembereiche Philosophie des Schönen und der Kunst, Theorie der einzelnen Künste und Methodologie der Kunstwissenschaften. Seit 1966 erscheint die "Zeitschrift für Ästhetik und Allgemeine Kunstwissenschaft" wieder in zwei Halbjahresbänden (von 1966 bis 1999 beim Bouvier Verlag). Die "ZÄK" enthält folgende Rubriken: 1. Abhandlungen; 2. Miszellen; 3. Besprechungen. Beiträge werden im peer-review-Verfahren und vorzugsweise in deutscher, aber auch in englischer oder französischer Sprache veröffentlicht. Die Diskussionen der Zeitschrift werden erweitert und vertieft durch themenorientierte Sonderhefte, die in loser Folge erscheinen.
