Abstract:
Thyssen Umformtechnik Turbinenkomponenten (TUT) in Remscheid is a supplier of turbine components for landbase turbines and for aero-engines. Customers in the aerospace and landbase turbine business strive for reductions in costs and weight as well as for the improvement of operating temperatures in order to increase the efficiency of their engines. Next to short-term activities like continuous improvement for cost reduction, TUT carries out research work as a long-term investment. The research activities at TUT are numerous and range from the simulation of forging operations to the qualification of advanced materials.
