Abstract:
Previous investigations point to France as the original source of crown-post construction. Structural behaviour of vaults under Romanesque roofs reveals the logic of the central post. The Gothic roof of northern Europe is defined and its impact upon England is illustrated, leading to conclusions which reinforce earlier deductions.Document Type: Research Article
