Abstract:

This note discusses an agreement between Edward Cookesey a clothier and William Gloucester a brickmaker for the making of 100,000 bricks in Worcester. The terms of the agreement are compared with the contemporary descriptions by John Houghton in regard to the costs and practice of brickmaking and the size of bricks.
