Non‐abdominal Non‐thoracic Ultrasound in Cats and Dogs: Small Parts in Small Animals

Ultrasound is widely used in small animal veterinary medicine for the investigation of cardiac disease and abdominal disorders. However, non‐abdominal non‐thoracic ultrasound in dogs and cats currently has a much more minor role in routine diagnostic work‐ups. This article, based on a presentation given to the annual BMUS meeting in 2007, aims to provide some insight into the use of diagnostic ultrasound in evaluating the small parts of small patients.
