Abstract:

Ultrasound (US) is increasingly used for the assessment of periarticular structures of the knee and is frequently used in conjunction with magnetic resonance imaging and plain radiography. This pictorial essay describes a step-by-step approach for the ultrasonic examination of the knee and illustrates the normal anatomical structures which can be demonstrated with US.
