Abstract:
This article examines the early Iron II remains at Tel Harashim. Focusing primarily on the remnants of the fort constructed at the summit, the article maintains that the need for such a structure must be understood as a reflection of the cultural and political developments affecting northern Israel at that time. The results of the excavation at Tel Harashim, as well as of the other sites discussed here, contribute to a better understanding of the nature of the relationships between the Kingdoms of Israel and Tyre at the beginning of the first millennium BCE.Document Type: Research Article
