Abstract:
The Internet is a powerful tool that has long been under-utilized but is now experiencing an explosive growth in popularity. As the Internet community expands, not only does increasingly more information become available online, it also becomes easier for users to communicate with one another. E-mail is one of the most popular and effective ways to open communication lines and share information between Internet users. E-mail lists, made up of groups of (sometimes) large numbers of people with common interests, allow users to become directly involved in the exchange of ideas and information from sources around the world. PTHER is a free e-mail list which offers an arena for rapid international correspondence amongst physical therapists. Through the PTHER list, physical therapy practitioners can not only expand their own knowledge bases, they can also contribute to the collective advancement of the physical therapy profession as a whole. Keywords: HEALTHCARE INFORMATICS; PHYSICAL THERAPY; INTERNET; PHYSIOTHERAPY
